Doing Business in Slovakia
Slovakia’s tax rates are moderate, but its deadlines are strict. Three areas shape your obligations: tax, licensing and reporting. The country offers access to the European market and favourable taxation for small businesses. Foreign companies register with the tax authorities before they start, the NBS supervises the financial sector and CASPs under MiCA, and late filings can bring fines.
COREDO provides a full range of legal services for foreign companies operating in Slovakia. We support non-residents, regulated financial entities, startups and companies facing tax audits or corporate disputes. Our lawyers draft and review documents, structure transactions and represent clients before the NBS, the tax authorities and commercial courts.

For a Slovak company, the director and the founder do not need to be present in person. We prepare the powers of attorney and send them to you to sign and certify, and you suggest three possible company names. We translate the powers of attorney and certificates, communicate with the notary and the court, and obtain the business licences once the share capital of at least EUR 5,000 is paid in. We need the identity cards and residential addresses of the directors and shareholders and their certificates of non-conviction not older than 3 months.
