Doing Business in Spain
Spain rewards new companies with lower tax but expects discipline in reporting. It gives foreign entrepreneurs access to the European market, and foreign investors may own a Spanish company outright outside certain strategic sectors. Most activities need a municipal licence, the CNMV regulates the financial sector, and annual accounts are filed with the Registro Mercantil every year, even by inactive companies.
COREDO provides comprehensive legal services for companies operating in Spain. Our clients include entrepreneurs relocating to Spain, foreign companies opening an SL or branch, non-residents, regulated entities and companies facing CNMV inspections or Agencia Tributaria enquiries. We review contracts under Spanish law and represent clients before the CNMV, the Agencia Tributaria and the Registro Mercantil.

Our Services for Businesses in Spain
How We Work
Initial consultation
we analyse the client’s legal situation: jurisdiction, type of activity, licensing status, and risks in Spain.
Legal audit
we assess compliance with Spanish legislation, tax obligations, and CNMV standards.
Strategy development
we determine the optimal format of support and analyse applicable tax benefits.
Legal support
preparation and review of documents, interaction with CNMV and other authorities, contract structuring.
Ongoing support and monitoring
regular monitoring of changes in Spanish legislation and EU regulations, with clients informed of required adaptations.
For an SL, we send you powers of attorney to sign and certify and ask for three possible names. We then translate the documents, work with the notary and the Commercial Register, obtain the business licences and the NIF, and obtain an NIE for the founder. The minimum authorised capital is EUR 3,000, available for spending once registration is complete and the account is open. We need identity documents and proof of address of the directors and shareholders, a description of the planned activity and the expected monthly and annual turnover.
